The judges will be selected from sponsors and influential gemstone stakeholders.The competition will have two rounds of judging.
The first round of judging will be conducted by a panel of 3-5 judges that will select five finalists.
The Pitch Night will have 3-4 judges that will select the winners. Judges decisions are final.

The five finalists will receive training on presentation skills and developing an impactful pitch slide deck.
No. The Pitch Competition is open to anyone who works on coloured gemstones in East and Southern Africa.
You should apply as a registered organisation or legal entity.
Each finalist will have eight minutes to present and three minutes for Q&A with the judges.
If you win, you will be presented with the prize at the Pitch Night. Following the Pitch Night, we will undertake due diligence of your organisation and your idea before funds are sent to you.
The prize is US$10,000 that should be used to implement a solution to market gemstones. The winner will also receive access to a variety of supports and services offered by MEfDA, partner organisation and sponsors. This will be valid until the end of 2019 and will provide the winner with valuable training and networking opportunities.
