The Mining and Energy for Development Alumni network brings together alumni that have participated in mining and energy programs delivered by MEfDA, IM4DC, Australia Awards, Australia Africa Partnership Facility and MEfDA institutional partners.

Alumni GroupMEfDA’s global network extends to over 1800 alumni in over 65 countries from academia, private sector, civil society and government. This multisector global community comprises emerging and current leaders that are influencing positive change in mining and energy for development. Alumni are strategic partners in MEfDA’s success. It is through the work and achievements of alumni that the goal of achieving inclusive sustainable development from the extractive industry can be achieved.

Embedded in MEfDA’s integrated program of activities, the Alumni Program is built on an empowerment model that enhances leadership skills and the formation of influential networks. Key activities in the Alumni program include in-country Alumni Forums, online activities on M4DLink (the online community of practice) and support for further training and capacity building. These activities support emerging leaders and enable alumni to pursue ongoing personal and professional development, share knowledge and expertise, connect with peers and build coalitions.
